Gerald Rockwell is a Tucson-based artist who expresses his creativity through abstract stone sculpture. Inspired by European art and gardens—especially the Schönbrunn Palace—he became a self-taught sculptor after years in commercial art. Though he once stepped away from art, a moment of rediscovery in 2017 reignited his passion, leading him to mentor with renowned sculptor Merlin Cohen.
From organic forms to mythical figures, Gerald works with the stone, not against it—embracing imperfections and letting the image reveal itself.
